Well, hello again. I am sure by the title you can tell that in a few days we will be ending our 2009/2010 winter blog. Yes, I know it's sad, and I hope you'll be able to get over following our lttle journal here but hey, it's like a good movie or a good book right? They all have to end or like a bad movie or bad book you can turn it off or pitch it....at least you didn't have to pay for this right? Sooo........keep reading, it's the last one, eh? It's time for Nancy and I to dry our eyes, wipe our noses and blow our hoses. Packing is our future now, and we are heading back to the great north country in two days.
We are in Defuniak Springs, Florida as of this final entry. The golf photos are from yesterday golfing at Blackstone Country Club. Another sad story here is that this was our first time golfing this trip. Either the weather didn't cooperate or we were off doing a museum or time on the beach or visiting someone or something! We have been busy, and of course had alot of fun this trip. Since our last blog entry we spent 4 days in Mississippi after leaving New Orleans. (You can see the beautiful campground at the bottom.) Why in Mississippi you ask? Well, we wanted to relax a little after New Orleans and tour around the area of Biloxi and Gulfport. We had the opportunity to visit and have dinner with a high school friend and Nancy's 8th grade boyfriend (George). Very nice visit... This area was hard hit by Katrina 5 years ago and even after 5 years they have alot of work to do. Very sad driving around where homes used to be...
If your wondering about the photo...those are shrimp boats behind me. It was taken at Billy's Seafood where we bought shrimp off the boats in Foley, Alabama..our second visit to old Billy's.
We left Alabama and arrived in Defuniak Springs, Florida last Sunday, March 21st. Yes...she made me drive and pull the RV on my birthday - to a campground out in the middle of nowhere! But she did fix a nice birthday dinner for me....shrimp. I hadn't had it in a while...
Sunset King RV Park is our last stop before heading home. We've enjoyed the weather as it's the first full week of 70+ degree weather we've had since leaving! It's a very nice park, and we did a lot of biking and did play golf so all in all not so bad.
The town of Defuniak Springs reminds you of a small sleepy town of yesterday. The homes on Circle Drive around a small lake had large
porches, beautiful old trees and landscaping. Picture a setting of old southern homes, all of different architecture almost perserved in time; that's Defuniak Springs.

Well, I could go on rambling and blabbin about all this stuff we do, and things we see and find, but this is your lucky day. The sun's out and I'm not so I must leave you with this thought....
Where Would You Rather Be?
Happy Trails To You.....from two who are on it...
