After leaving Surf City we stayed at Spring Hills campground in Carborro, NC (just outside of Chapel Hill) for 3 nights visiting Laura and Jimi in Durham. Busy, busy, busy working out details and wedding invitations! We then proceeded to Ashville, NC (about 3.5 hours) and stayed at Mama Gerties RV Park in the mountains for 3 nights. Of course if you've ever visited Ashville then you already know you have to tour the Vanderbilt "Biltmore" Estate as it is the largest house in the US. How does 175,000 sq.ft. sound with 250 rooms? We had a great time in Ashville and even took a 35 mile trip across the Blue Ridge Parkway. We then proceeded back to Spring Hills campground for another 3 nights and spent Easter Sunday at Laura and Jimi's house having a great dinner and Easter Egg hunt to boot. Spending Easter with them and their friends was a special treat and pretty much an end to our visit with one day left here in North Carolina. Tuesday April 14th we begin our trek back to the north and hopefully not too long in pants and sweatshirts before it warms up in Michigan. We've been on the road since Jan. 5 and should be home around April 15th. Already looking forward to our next trip but of course first things first.....a Wedding!
